There have been a few things since my last activation that conspired to keep me off the net, as it were. Since it was so abrupt, I felt like I needed to fill you in a little.
I had a credit card verification issue and needed to get a new card. Unfortunately, the bad card was tied to this site. So, when the renewals came up for the site, I unknowingly used the bogus card. The email I received afterwards was not my assumed confirmation! So here we were with interrupted service. I would say, “don’t fire and forget”, my friends. My apologies go out to all.
My lack of POTA activities has to do with an injury I received early one morning. Keeping the hallway dark, so as to not wake up my son, I tripped over his German Shepherd sleeping on the floor by his bedroom door and fell injuring my bad knee and further injuring my bad shoulder. The 85 lb. dog was fine and started to lick my face while I was writhing in pain on the floor. G’boy!
I’ve only gone out once in my JINO (Jeep in name only, my Compass), as I was feeling a little better, but I think I need to see a surgeon. Such is life. Oh yeah, with my retired-itis I do not remember if the last outing was before or after my injury. And you know what? It doesn’t matter. It was right around there.
Because of another SHT (Stupid Human Trick), I was responding to a ham in my club on their blog without knowing. I received emails, you see, and responded to them not knowing they were from a blog. I even said they should have a blog, on their blog. I would never make it at NASA.
Starting with this post, I will have a page that lists some of my friend’s blogs. These are folks with whom I have a connection from my clubs, LICW or SPARC. It will not be definitive, and it will grow over time.
