Training To Be An Instructor

Member number 3822

I am currently an associate instructor for the Long Island CW Club. It means that I am going through the club’s process to become an instructor. I am currently slotted to teach Beginners Carousel 3, a syllabus intended for new Morse Code operators who just learned all their characters. The whole purpose of which is to get the students to get on the air.

Since I reside in Southern California, my class times will be best suited for the WC (West Coast). The day and time are not yet set; however, it will be in the evening, making the time more convenient for those operators that work during the day. Considering that I am retired, the time will be after my nappy-time ensuring I am fresh for my students!

Stay tuned…

The improvements were impressive—two soccer fields, paved roads, shaded benches, and even self-cleaning, talking bathrooms that play music. I set up my AX3 antenna easily and started calling CQ POTA, quickly making contacts before activity slowed.…

Activated on September 28th, 2025 The day before I cancelled going to this park because of a 50% chance of rain. It was supposed to be a ceremonious day as the newly renovated southern end of the park was going to open. Or so I thought. So, today under gloomy skies and only a three…
